The Barents EU Centre Promotes Participation of PetrSU in the Program “Horizon 2020”

On November 19-20, 2013 the meeting of Working Group on Education and Research in the Barents Euro-Arctic Region was arranged in Brussels. The meeting gathered more than 45 people – representatives of 13 universities and research institutes of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, members of the European Commission Directorate and the leading experts of regional administrations and national offices of Sweden and Norway. Under the support of the project “Establishing the EU Centre in the Barents Region of Russia”, implemented under the financial support of the European Union”, director of the Institute of International Programs L. Kulikovskaya, director of Atlantic and Asian Cooperation Centre of IIP A. Rogozin, deputy director of PetrSU IT-Park A. Shabaev represented PetrSU and the Barents EU Centre.

Within two days of intensive work during the plenary session and 3 sections (ICT, energetics and environment, social and cultural problems of the Arctic) participants discussed the project proposals for the European framework programs. Most of the focus was on the joint activity and development of cooperation in the framework of the future EU program “Horizon 2020”. At the end of the meeting the participants emphasized mutual scientific interests and most topical directions for submitting joint project applications, defined the further action plan. Therefore, the Barents EU Centre promoted the participation of PetrSU in the future call for applications within the framework of the program “Horizon 2020”.
