Summer School for Postgraduate students in Strelna

Centre for German and European Studies of Saint-Petersburg State University,
European Studies Centre – EU Centre of the European University at Saint–Petersburg with financial support of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation invite Russian postgraduate students to participate in the 6th Summer School for Postgraduate Students ‘European Union Studies: Methodological Opportunities and Limits’ (June, 27 – July 1, 2012) in Saint – Petersburg (Strelna).

The main objective of the Summer School is to attract attention of young Russian researchers to apply the experience and results of the study of the European Union in the analysis of European and Russian politics. Debates on the latest approaches of studying European politics and governance, European identity and society are included into the programme of the School. 
The programme combines lectures of German and Russian lecturers and detailed discussions of the dissertation projects of the participants. Meeting with current German politicians has for the first time been included in the programme of the School.

Postgraduate students conducting research in the sphere of Social sciences, dealing with the issue of European Studies are invited to participate in the School.

Working languages: Russian and English (the latter is compulsory: a participant must be able to present and discuss his/her research project).

Organizers cover accommodation and food costs of participants for the period of the School, as well as transportation costs of participants from North-Western and Central regions of Russia.

Application deadline is June 13, 2012. 
The application must include:
1. CV (in Russian);
2. Letter of motivation for participation in the Summer School (in English, no more than 300 words);
3. A brief description of the research project (in Russian, no more than 1000 words, including the title, goals and objectives, estimated theoretical framework and research methods).
