Have you ever wanted to teach abroad and improve your English? Can you think of classroom activities that would help students in the UKto improve their Russian language skills? If so, the Foreign Language Assistants programme might be for you.
Your role will be to work with the teacher in the classroom or on your own with small groups of students in order to help them gain confidence in your language. It is also a good chance for them to learn more about the culture in your country.
This year the British Council Russia will be enrolling 1 teacher to work as foreign language assistants in 2013/2014 academic year.
Who can participate and criteria for selection:
Organizers are looking for young enthusiastic professionals with higher education diploma to work as assistant teachers in British school during 2013/2014 academic year.
Successful applicants should have:
- motivation to work in the classroom and promote Russian language and culture
- very good command of English
- higher education diploma (preferably connected with foreign or Russian language and/or teaching)
- some experience of teaching a foreign language or Russian as a foreign language is desirable but not essential
To apply for the position of a language assistant, please complete the аpplication form and other relevant documents and send it by post:

The documents you need to submit:
- 1. An application form
- 1 recent photo 3x4 (colored or black and white)
- Confidential reference (Please, ask your referee to write you a reference letter and put it in a sealed envelope. Please forward this sealed envelope without opening. If the referee does not speak English, s/he can provide the letter in Russian. You do not need to translate the letter)
- Copy of your passport (first page and the page with address) (you do not need to notarise the copies). An applicant must be a Russian citizen
- Copy of your foreign passport (page with passport's valid date till Decemeber 2014). If you do not hold one at the moment, you can send us the scanned copy of it letter by email
- CV (or resume) in English (organizers do not have any special requirements for this, as usual, please, outline your education, work experience, skills and other information that you think will be useful to support your application).
British Council does not cover any expenses of the participants of the programme such as plane tickets, visa application fee etc. They should cater their visa, transport and other arrangements themselves. We will provide support documents for their visa application. To take part in the programme participants must be available for the whole period.
Successful candidates will need to provide police clearance certificate and medical certificate. Organizers will notify you separately when it is required.
PROGRAMME LENGHT: 9 months (from September – early October till late May-June)
