Joint Programme “Immanuel Kant” of the Ministry of Education and Science of RF and DAAD

The scholarships that the DAAD offers together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation provide Russian doctoral candidates and young university teachers from the fields of Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Economics and Business Administration with an opportunity to carry out a research project at a German university or non-university research institution and to establish long-term contacts with German university teachers and researchers. The programme is open exclusively to members of universities that are subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science of theRussian Federation(Rosobrasovanie).

Target groups

  • A – Doctoral candidates and young researchers from the fields of Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Economics and Business Administration up to the age of 35 years and holding a Master’s degree or Diplom "Spezialist"
     
  • B – Postdoctoral researchers and university teachers from the Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Economics and Business Administration up to the age of 35 years

Applicants must be working at Russian universities that are subordinated to the "Rosobrasovanie". TheAcademyofSciencesand any universities subordinated to other ministries are excluded from this programme.

Duration

  • The term of the research grants for doctoral candidates and young university teachers ("A") begins on 1 October and lasts until 31 March of the following year (6 months). Shorter terms may only be awarded on a case-by-case basis. These scholarships cannot be extended. 
     
  • The term of the research stays by postdoctoral university teachers ("B") begins on 15 September and lasts until 15 December (3 months). Shorter terms can only be awarded on a case-by-case basis. These scholarships cannot be extended.

The size of the scholarship:

The size of the scholarship jointly financed by the DAAD and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation according to the status of applicant amounts to 1000-2000 euros per month. The part of the scholarship from the funds of the Ministry of Education and Science of theRussian Federationis transferred to the account of the Russian university and is paid to the scholarship holder by the bookkeeping department. The part of the scholarship from the funds of the DAAD is transferred to the bank account opened by the scholarship holder in the place of internship.

Language knowledge and its assessment:

Applicants should have very good command of German or English sufficient for communication with German colleagues on the scientific topics:

Applicants of group “A” confirm their knowledge of English or German with the help of the form   Sprachzeugnis für ausländische Bewerber/ Language certificate for foreign applicants, filled in by the university foreign language instructor with the seal of the Department or Faculty or with the help of any internationally recognized certificate, for example: for the German language – TestDaF, DSD C1 or certificate of  the Goethe-Institut with results, for the English language – TOEFL, IELTS, ESOL.

Applicants of group “B” don’t confirm their knowledge of languages.

Terms and the place of submission:

The applications are delivered by post, with the help of express delivery service or personally by the applicant to DAAD Moscow office up to and including September 30, 2013 (according to postal stamp).

Attention!    

As DAAD Moscow office receives plenty of letters it doesn’t confirm the delivery of the applications sent by post. Applications sent by e-mail or fax will be declined.

The abstracts should be sent by e-mail to citizenbookkazan@gmail.com. Please, in the subject of the letter write “Civic consciousness”.

The participation is free. The book will be issued by the publishing house ofKazanUniversitywith ISBN. Materials will be posted on the website of Kazan Federal University as well as in the international reference data base in Social sciences section Social Science Open Access Repository (SSOAR) (Cologne,Germany).

 

The articles are reviewed by specialists from Germanyand Russiawith the relevant qualification and scientific degrees.
