Courses of the English Language for lecturers of the project ‘Establishing the EU Centre in the Barents Region of Russia’ were held in Syktyvkar

In April within the framework of the project ‘Establishing the EU Centre in the Barents Region of Russia’, implemented with the financial support of the EU in SyktSU on the basis of the Institute of Additional Vocational Education professional development programme called ‘Professional English for University Lecturers’ was organized.

The following 6 university lecturers passed entry tests: Maximova L.A., Ivankova Zh. E., Shevtsova I.N., Seryakov A.V., Mishukova L.A., Tonkova E.G.

Training programme in addition to mastering the basic skills of academic writing, training of the skills of oral speaking and public speaking in English, repetition of lexical and grammar rules, included the following topics:

-                      Globalization. The role and place of the countries of the European Union in the processes of globalization;

-                      The role of the English language in global communication;

-                      The European Union. Qualification framework of the European Higher Education Area;

-                      Cross-cultural differences in the countries of the European Union.

On the 29^th of June, 2012 lecturers received certificates on completion of the course.
