Law of the European Economic Community
Lectures on ‘Law of the European Economic Community’ were held in English at the Faculty of Law of PetrSU by Par Hallstrom, professor of University of Umea (Sweden), who arrived to PetrSU within the framework of the “Establishing the EU Centre in the Barents Region of Russia” project implemented with the financial support of the EU.
The course was devoted to the issues of legal regulation of Common Economic Space in the EU, as well as basic principles of economic cooperation in Europe, structure and functions of World Trade Association (WTO), andRussia’s accession to WTO.
Members of the course were mostly second, third and fourth years students of the Faculty of Law, enrolled in the programme of additional qualification of translator in the sphere of professional communication. The course has caused a positive reaction among students, and positive feedback concerning the level of preparation and level of knowledge of the students by the lecturer himself.
The Faculty of Law thanks Directorate for International Cooperation of PetrSU for the initiative and help in organization of the course and hopes to continue this practice in the future.
