A round table discussion on the Brexit problem

A round table discussion on the Brexit problem was organized at the PetrSU Youth Innovation Park, organized jointly by the Karelian branch of the Association for European Studies and the Barents EU Center.

The event was attended by students of the 2nd and 4th courses of the “International Relations” training direction and undergraduates of the “History of Northern European Countries” program.

A wide range of problems related to Brexit was discussed, including the current situation and prospects for its development, the attitude to the problem in the UK and European Union countries, and coverage of this topic in the international media and the expert community. A comment on the possible impact of the consequences of Brexit for Russia was made by the scientific director of the Institute of Northern European Studies of PetrSU, Doctor of Economics Valery Alexandrovich Shlyamin.

The conference was moderated by Professor, Head of the Department of Foreign History, Political Science and International Relations, Chairman of the Karelian Regional Department of AEVIS Kilin Yuri Mikhailovich.

The round table showed a high level of knowledge of PetrSU students on European issues.
