EU Days in Arkhangelsk

On June 5-6, 2013 “European Union Days” were arranged in Archangelsk in NArFU within the framework of the project “Establishing the EU Centre in the Barents Region of Russia”, implemented under the financial support of the European Union.

The Centre “Arctic Partnership” organized the business game “Cyprus Expropriation – the New Policy of the EU?” (or “Crisis in the EU”), devoted to this event.    

The game had the form of discussion of the current critical situation inCyprus. Students of first to fourth years of education from theInstituteofHumanities, Social and Political Sciences from the Departments of World History and Politology, Regional Studies and International Relations evaluated the role of theRussian Federation,CyprusandGermanyand consequences of the events which took place in March 2013.

The lecturers of NArFU played the role of the independent monitors of the European Commission.

Following the results of the role play “Crisis in the EU” on June 6 the participants worked out the resolution where they formulated the proposals and alternative solutions for crisis recovery. Participants also were awarded certificates.
