European Youth Forum in Kazan
On November 14-16, 2014 the III European Youth Forum devoted to migrations in the EU was conducted inKazan.
A second-year student of the Institute History, Political and Social Sciences, of Foreign History Department Irina Yakutchik has gone through the competitive selection and her application has become one of 30 top applications. 209 applications were sent to the organizers.
The main goal of the forum was the acquiring of new knowledge in the sphere of the European Integration. The case-school format in two languages (Russian and English) promoted the practical application of students’ skills to solve some problems of vital importance which connected with migrations in the European Union andRussia. The participants of the forum had the opportunity to listen the reports by the specialists of migrations and European integration: professor from Warsaw University Kamil Zayazhskovsky read a lecture on the EU and its role in the world politics, on the future of the European Union, on the structure of EU external policy; lecturer of Portsmouth University (Great Britain) Edward Stoddard told about the energetic problems of the EU in external policy; experts from Migration Policy Institute in Germany Olga Gulina and Alice Oblezova told about the migration processes in Germant, France, Switzerland and Russia, about discrimination of workers-migrants in labor relations.
The final lectures were given by the young researchers of Kazan Federal University Gleb Bychkov and Anastasia Zabusova. The spoke about economic modeling of migration processes in the EU andRussia.
The participants of the forum have acquired valuable experience of team work, as well as have deepened their knowledge in the sphere of migration processes in the EU andRussia.
The participation in the forum was conducted in the framework of the project “Establishing the EU Centre in the Barents Region of Russia”, implemented with the financial support of the European Union.
