International Language and Culture Camp at PetrSU (the 2018 EU Days)

12.02.2018

On February 5-19 the Institute of Foreign Languages hosted yet another International Language and Culture Camp for students of the Lycée Jean Dautet from the city of La Rochelle (France).

In Karelia, the guests were welcomed by the Department of the German and French languages of the Institute of Foreign Languages of PetrSU. The teachers and students of the university held classes and workshops and introduced the young Frenchmen to the culture. Alongside studying the participants of the Camp visited educational institutions, museums and exhibition halls, participated in creative contests and events.

Snow had the greatest impression on the Lycée students. They worried whether it would last until their departure, as in La Rochelle snow falls once in five years, just 2-3 cm of it and melts right away. The visiting team joyfully participated in the Snegovik.com contest and was awarded a diploma and prizes.

The students of the Lycée Jean Dautet took part in the Hyperborea Festival, celebrated Maslenitsa and the Days of France in Petrozavodsk. The French team stood out in the jovial and lively carnival parade.

Next year Russian students of the Institute of Foreign Languages of PetrSU will take part in the International Language and Culture Camp that will take place in France.

The event was held in the framework of the EU Days of the International project the “EU Center in the Barents Region of Russia” implemented with the financial support of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
