Meeting of Representatives of the EU Centres in St. Petersburg

On September 19, 2013 the meeting of the representatives of the Russian EU Centres was held in St. Petersburg. Barents EU Centre was represented by the Head of the EU Information Centre, project coordinator Anastasia Kuznetsova.  

Within the framework of the meeting Centres officers had the opportunity to acquire information on the common and specific tendencies of development of the EU Centres in Russia which was presented by Nicola Scaramuzzo, the Delegation of the European Union to Russia. The meeting had the format of three roundtable discussions devoted to different spheres of Centres activity: international cooperation; PR and Visibility; logistics. External experts were also invited.

Representative of the Centre for German and European Studies Nikita Basov, of the EU Centre of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University Anne Barsukova, of the EU Centre in Siberia Larisa Deriglazova shared their experience in the sphere of international cooperation. The problems and peculiarities of intercultural communication got wide coverage. The Head of DAAD office in St. Petersburg Michael Kleineberg, journalist and economist Dmitry Travin, journalist Anne Litvinenko, representative of  town-protecting movement in St. Petersburg Julia Murashova, designer of the European University at St. Petersburg Alexander Khodot, representatives of the EU Centre in Kazan Federal University Irina Kuznetsova and Natalia Chernova demonstrated how to work more effective with journalists, how to make events more attractive for mass media, which measures are essential for close cooperation with them and what aspects are important for visual support of centre activity. At the end of the meeting some difficulties and possible problems accruing while planning and organizing public arrangements were discussed. This section was represented by reports of Aigul Sembaeva, German-Russian Exchange, Nadezhda Usupova, development department of the European University at St. Petersburg, Oksana Karnaukhova, the EU Centre of Southern Federal University and Anastasia Kuznetsova, Barents EU Centre in PetrSU.
