PetrSU Lecturers received certificates of the English language

On the 4^th of June, 2012 lecturers of PetrSU that successfully completed a course of the English language within the framework of the project ‘Establishing the EU Centre in the Barents Region of Russia’, implemented with the financial support of the EU, were awarded language certificates.

Lecturers of Faculty of History, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, that undergo a training programme within the project, completed the language course.

Language course is the first part of the programme. Lecturers had an opportunity to repeat tenses and sequence of tenses in English, master their skills of academic writing, learn techniques of oral practice and public speaking, improve their listening skills by listening to news and popular scientific programmes on BBC and CNN, familiarize themselves with orthoepic, lexical and grammatical norms of the English language and the way they are applied in the field of science both in oral and written forms of communication.

Lecturers will actively use their knowledge in future professional activity, as nowadays proficiency in foreign languages and establishment of study courses in English plays an increasingly important role in the development of education.
