Open Information Days Within the Framework of the Project “Establishing the EU Centre in the Barents Region of Russia”

From 5th to 7th of June, 2013 Open Information Days were arranged in the Barents EU Centre within the framework of the project “Establishing the EU Centre in the Barents Region of Russia”, implemented under the financial support of the European Union.

The visitors had the opportunity to see the presentation of the project and Centre and to receive information on its purposes and objectives, main directions of work, implemented and future arrangements. Presentation of the European scholarship foundations was demonstrated. It allowed to get information on the opportunities for people who want to study, implement internship or research in Europe. Besides, the visitors could listen to the lecture by Alexey Gromiko, deputy director of the Institute of Europe of RAS., the head of British Research Centre, President of the European Research Association “The European Union: Modern State and Perspectives” (the video of public lecture in NArFU was used). From the 5th to 7th of June the exhibition dedicated to the EU and European educational programs were opened.

Open Information Days and the Barents EU Centre received positive responses from visitors. Schoolchildren, students, post-graduate students, mass media representatives and people, who want to learn more about the EU, were among the participants. They singled out that there are no doubts that its activity is very important for development of European research in the Barents region ofRussia, it provides plenty of opportunities for its encouragement and is interesting for various representatives of society.
