The Course “The Common External Policy and Security Policy: the EU in the World Policy” is Arranged in Petrozavodsk State University

On the 12th of February, 2013 in Petrozavodsk State University the lecturer of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences A.A. Lapshin began to read the course “The Common External Policy and Security Policy: the EU in the World Policy” which is implemented under the financial support of the European Union “LLP programme”.      

The course is delivered in English so the participants can not only acquire the new knowledge but also improve their knowledge of language. The course is comprised of 108 hours of which 58 are class hours.

The course suggests investigation of the EU as the factor of international relations with the help of examination of theoretical and practical aspects of decision-making process in the sphere of the common external policy and security policy. The participants of the course will acquire knowledge on such topics as conceptual framework of European integration and the role of the common external policy and security policy in this process, the role of the EU in the new world order; the key priorities, strategies and initiatives of the EU in sphere of common external policy and security policy, analysis of relationships between Russia and the EU.        

The course encourages the development of European research activity and enhances the quality of education devoted to the EU.
