3rd meeting of the EU Recearch Club
The regular meeting of the EU Research Club was arranged in Petrozavodsk State University.
“Groundhog Day: Lack of Motivation among Young People in the EU? What are the ways and sources for sparking the interest among young people?” – that was the topic of the meeting which was arranged in the form of discussion.
Students and lecturers of the Faculty of History, Philology, Economics, Law and Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, students fromFinland,Great Britain,Czech Republic,Thailandand theUSAand representatives of the Directorate for International Cooperation took part in the meeting. The moderators of the meeting were Anastasia Kuznetsova, the Head of the EU Information Centre/project coordinator and Vice Dean for Educational Work (the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences), senior lecturer, Ph.D. in Political Sciences Mikhail Bezborodov.
Within the framework of the roundtable participants discussed the problems devoted to young people’s lack of interest in getting education, achieving professional and personal development, compared situations in different countries and supposed what can encourage the interest of young people. In this respect, they emphasized the importance of not only state policy but also the importance of education in the family, personal strength, ideal example, organization which would help young people to define their life stance and to get development.
All in all, the meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, the participants demonstrated their opinions, shared their experience and expressed a wish to continue arranging such meetings devoted to the actual themes concerning the EU development.
