Have you ever wanted to teach abroad and improve your English? Can you think of classroom activities that would help students in the UKto improve their Russian language skills? If so, the Foreign Language Assistants programme might be for you. Your role will be to work with the teacher in the classroom or on your own with small groups of students in order to help them gain confidence in your language. It is also a good chance for them to learn more about the culture in your country. This year the British Council Russia will be enrolling 1 teacher to work as foreign language assistants in 2013/2014 academic year.

The competition is arranged as on-line quiz in the framework of the project “Establishing the EU Centre in the Barents Region of Russia”, implemented with the financial support of the EU.

The international conference "Europe and Asia-Pacific Countries: Problems of Interaction" will be held in Irkutsk from September 30 to October 1, 2013. It is suggested to focus on different aspects of cooperation between the European Union, Russia and Asia-Pacific states, to consider the evolution of integration processes in both regions, to analyze the role of Siberia as a bridge between the East and the West, to discuss the problems of European identity and perception of the EU in the world.
