Youngmi Kim, associate professor of the Department of Political Science in Central European University (Hungary), gave a course “European integration and management” at the Institute of History, Social and Political Science from the 22nd to 24th of March. The course was given within the “EU Center in the Barents region of Russia” project, which is run with the financial support of the “Erasmus+” program. The course was taken by 3rd and 4th year bachelor students and 1st and 2nd year master students majoring in “International relations”. Total amount of course hours was 20, 12 of which were taught in class and 8 were left for individual work. Topics like European integration, expanding of the EU, democracy and crisis in the EU were covered.


From 14 to 16 March Matthias Hartwig taught a course “Introduction to the European Law” at the PetrSU Faculty of Law. The course was delivered within the project “EU Center in the Barents region of Russia”, supported by the “Erasmus+” program of the European Union.


On March 17, 2017, EU Center in the Barents region of Russia granted awards to the winners of the online contest “What do I know about the European Union?”.


On February 24, 2016 EU Center in the Barents region of Russia held a meeting within the framework of the EU research club. The club exists since 2012 and operates within the project “EU Center in the Barents region of Russia”, which is funded by the Erasmus + program of the European Union


On January 21, 2016 the European Union Center in the Barents Region of Russia held a webinar with the Center of European Studies in Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada). Institute of International Programs staff took part in that webinar.

The meeting of the EU Research club took place in the European Union Centre in the Barents Region of Russia on December 4, 2015.


The presentation of “EU center in the Barents region of Russia” project took place at PetrSU on November 23, 2015. The project is implemented with the financial support of the REASMUS+ program of the European Union. Teachers from the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences, as well as from the Faculty of Ecology and Biology and the Faculty of Law, who will be directly involved in the implementation of the project since 2016, took part in this meeting.


The exhibition ‘The EU Today’ was opened in PetrSU library on October 14, 2015 within the framework of 'The EU Centre in the Barents region of Russia’ project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.

EU Days in PetrSU

From 27 till 29 May 2015 in Petrozavodsk State University the EU Days were organized by BEUC. This year the topic was European history through cinema. The participants get acquainted with BEUC activities and watched 3 films that reflect the different periods of European history. “Troy” tells about the history of the XXII century BC.
